Government Fraud
Do you suspect government fraud in the workplace?
The federal False Claims Act was amended in 1986 to strengthen the powers of citizen whistleblowers and the government to bring people or companies who are committing fraud to justice.
It requires that those caught committing fraud pay:
- Two or three times the amount they fraudulently obtained, or attempted to fraudulently obtain;
- Penalties of $5,000 to $11,000 for every time a false claim was submitted to the government, and
- The government’s costs of an investigation
Our initial telephone calls and personal conferences with citizen whistleblowers are completely confidential.
